UK pubs are facing mass closures due to increasing operational costs, prompting government plans for a financial support package to save thousands of jobs.

The British Beer and Pub Association warns that 1,000 pubs could close over the next year due to a 'perfect storm' of business rates rises, beer duty taxes, employment costs, and high energy bills, potentially costing 15,000 jobs, while The Treasury is expected to announce around £300 million in annual support for the sector.
